• An Apex Predator for its time- Prey on large herbivores 

• Known to be a scavenger but still debated amongst paleontologists.

• Can run to speeds of up to 25 mph (40 km/h).

• Had great sense of smell and sight. 

• First Fossil Record: Discovery: Barnum Brown, Wyoming (1900).

• Went extinct during the asteroid impact in the Late Cretaceous Era.
